Why Is Everyone Talking About Fiber Right Now?

For the past few years, protein has been everywhere. Protein snacks. Protein coffee. Protein everything.

But lately, another nutrient seems to be entering the group chat: fiber.

From gut health and the microbiome to blood sugar and feeling satisfied after a meal, fiber is suddenly getting a lot more attention. The funny thing is, fiber isn't new. It's just finally getting some of the spotlight.

So, What's the Big Deal With Fiber?

Fiber is a type of carbohydrate found in plant foods that our bodies don't fully digest. And while that may not sound particularly exciting, what happens because of it is.

Different types of fiber do different things. Fiber can support digestive health and regularity, while certain fibers are fermented by the bacteria living in our gut. Some types of fiber can also help slow digestion and influence how quickly glucose enters the bloodstream.

In other words: there's a reason everyone's talking about it. And unlike some nutrition trends, getting more fiber doesn't have to mean adding another supplement or completely changing the way you eat.

Small Ways to Add More Fiber

Fruit, vegetables, beans, whole grains, nuts and seeds are all familiar sources of fiber—but what works for you depends on how you eat.

If you're gluten-free, grain-free, AIP, Paleo, or navigating food allergies, some of the most commonly recommended sources of fiber might not be on your plate.

The good news? There are plenty of other ways to work it in. Here are a few high fiber finds from the our pantry:

🫐 Off The Farm Blueberry Vanilla Meal Bar

It's an especially easy way to start thinking about fiber at breakfast.

Fiber Doesn't Have to Be Complicated

Maybe fiber is having a moment. But this is one trend that doesn't need to turn into another thing to obsess over.

Look for little opportunities throughout your day: berries on breakfast, vegetables at lunch, nuts or seeds for a snack, a fiber-forward cereal or bar when convenience matters.

Because when you eat differently, the answer isn't always to follow the standard nutrition playbook. It's finding what fits, and building from there.
