March 2019 AIP Talk with ShopAIP

The ShopAIP Blog is a great resource for the latest articles, research, blog posts, podcasts, books, products and more related to the anti-inflammatory paleo autoimmune protocol (AIP) diet.

Some links in this post are affiliate links. That simply means I may receive a small commission (at no extra cost to you) if you purchase an item mentioned through the link.

Each month I’ll be featuring the latest happenings in our AIP community and sharing here! You’ll be able to get your favorite AIP staples and keep in the loop in one place.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

#aipreintro – The first week of March many AIP bloggers got together and shared their experiences with the reintroduction phase of the AIP. You know, that light at the end of the tunnel? Have you reintroduced any foods successfully? Did your body clearly communicate a “NO” with a certain food?

The Autoimmune Protocol Guide – Sarah teamed up with Paleo Magazine for a special issue dedicated entirely to the AIP! This is big collaborative effort to reach a larger audience and help people regain their health. Be sure to look for this special issue near you (enter Paleo Magazine and your zip code).

NEW COOKBOOKS:

The Paleo Autoimmune Protocol Comfort Food Cookbook – Michelle from Unbound Wellness has her very own book baby coming out! She has a way with putting an AIP twist on familiar favorites and that’s what we can expect with these 100 comfort food recipes! The book releases in September, but you can pre-order it now and lock in the lowest price.

AIP By Season – This AIP community cookbook features 101 recipes designed to not only help you with a variety of delicious recipes that are AIP-friendly, but also as a guide to eating with the seasons. Despite still having snow outside, I’m told spring is coming.

NEW PODCASTS:

Phoenix Helix Podcast: Eating AIP in a Non-Paleo Home – For many households, “blended diets” are commonplace. In this podcast episode, Eileen chats with three guests about how they make their healing protocol work while living with those who eat differently.

Emotional Autoimmunity Podcast: – Imagine having not one, but three hemorrhagic strokes, resulting in the need for brain surgery. Now imagine discovering that you had an issue with your thyroid that meant yet more surgery and being left hypothyroid. That is the story of Kerry’s next podcast guest. I’m sure how he dealt with it all will inspire you!

The Unskilled Cavewoman Podcast: Guest Jordan Candido from Healthy Fat & Fit – Samantha launched season two of her podcast! In this episode, she covers symptom tracking and meal planning for hypothyroidism with her guest, Jordan.

MUST-READ BLOG POSTS:

Why Self-Care Can Be the Missing Piece to the Healing Puzzle – In this guest post Kari shares with us, “In identifying these things that I really needed, I came to understand that the big piece missing from my health care was actually self-care.”

MSMonday Selma Blair – Did you know March is MS Awareness Month? In this post, Alissa talks about the headlines after Selma walked the red carpet at the Oscars.

What the Heck is AIP Creepage? – In this post, Jo not only answers the question, she also shares how to prevent (and, essentially, get over) it.

Life on the Paleo Autoimmune Protocol - a Story in Memes – As someone who loves the easy entertainment that comes from a good meme, I appreciate Eileen’s compilation of AIP relatable memes on every level.

FEATURED RECIPES:

Sheet Pan AIP Breakfast – For those days where you NEED a simple, no fuss AIP breakfast. Okay, maybe that’s most days. I often mix up the seasonings and either use the Breakfast Blend or the AIP Paleo Powder.

Kale and Preserved Lemon “Couscous” Cauliflower Rice – Jo shares this delicious recipe inspired by a recipe (proper credit given, of course). If you’ve not made preserved lemons before, it’s quite easy!

NEW PRODUCTS:

We now offer a fine Real Salt. This is one of my favorite brands of salt to use!

Wild Zora recently launched their AIP soup mix! Perfect for camping and travel - even those "I don't have energy to cook" days.

ON SALE:

As always, have a look at the current items on sale and stock up on your favorite AIP goods! Right now, you can save a dollar on the 1.75 oz bags of Artisan Tropic Plantain Strips. And score some savings on Shavasana collagen protein shake mixes!
