About the Brand

About the Brand

In 2004, our founder, Bill Carvalho, happened upon an exhibit at the Monterey Bay Aquarium that told the story of our oceans having reached their breaking point. Deeply moved by his visit, Bill changed the course of his original seafood business into the compassionate company that it is today. Born out of reverence for ocean life, Wild Planet exists to transform an industry to protect this incredible resource for generations to come.

The outside of the can before opening it up, has an extremely toxic odor to this. I thought it was a fluke so I went to go wash off another can and it was just as bad one can smells like some kind of chemical bleach from the mackerel, fish, wild planet and the sardine can smells like industrial oil oils. Very scary. I hope that wild planet changes their packaging because colon cancer is rising 2% every year for people under the age of 65. They are finding that toxic food packaging is a major contributing factor.
