Spooky "Choconot" Mummy Brownies

These adorable Mummy Brownies are a spooky, sweet way to celebrate, with chewy, fudgy brownies wrapped in ribbons of creamy frosting.

Our friends at Eat G.A.N.G.S.T.E.R. created this festive recipe using their Chewy Choconot Brownie Mix, which delivers all the rich brownie goodness you love, without traditional chocolate, gluten, dairy, or eggs.

They're easy to make, fun to decorate, and perfect for a little spooky-season baking with the kids.

Directions

1. Bake the brownies

Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease an 8-by-8-inch baking pan.

Pour the dry brownie mix into a large mixing bowl. In a microwave-safe glass measuring cup, combine the maple syrup and avocado oil. Heat for approximately 1 minute.

Pour the warmed mixture into the dry brownie mix and stir until completely smooth. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and spread evenly with a spatula.

Bake for 26–28 minutes, then allow the brownies to cool completely before decorating.

2. Prepare the frosting

While the brownies bake, prepare the frosting.

In a large bowl, beat the palm shortening until light and fluffy. Add the dry Sweet Cream Frosting Mix and continue beating until smooth and fluffy.

Transfer the frosting to a pastry bag fitted with a ribbon tip. You can also use a zip-top bag fitted with a piping tip.

3. Create your mummies!

Once the brownies are completely cool, cut them into rectangles.

If you're using edible googly eyes, pipe two small dots of frosting onto each brownie and gently press the eyes into place.

Next, pipe flat ribbons of frosting across each brownie in a crisscross pattern to create the look of mummy bandages. Leave a little space around the eyes so each mummy can peek out!

Repeat until all your brownies have been transformed into spooky little mummies.

4. Serve and enjoy!

Your mummy brownies are ready for their Halloween debut! Serve them at a Halloween party, pack them as a festive treat, or enjoy them during a cozy Halloween movie night.

Store in an airtight container, following the frosting mix's storage recommendations.
